February Update
“Welcome to Canada! We are very happy you arrived safely! I hope you enjoy this basket full of treats and hygiene products. We pray that you will settle in well here. We know you have been through a lot. We want you to know that God loves you and will always be with you. We will be praying for you.”

Advocacy and Education
One of our pillars at Inasmuch is to instill compassion for and understanding toward Refugee Claimants in our city. Our hope is that this will inspire generosity, service and friendship to grow. We are grateful to Pastor Darian Atwood for leading the youth at South Abbotsford Church to turn outward and care for others in need.
They have generously given their time, talents and treasures to learn about and serve Refugee Claimants in our city. Some did the heavy lifting to move 2 adults into their rental suite. Others baked cookies for our tea times and assembled welcome baskets of essential hygiene products. They participated in our interactive simulation: 5 Minutes to Flee.
If your youth group or school group/class would like to learn about Refugee Claimants, why they flee and how you can help,
contact Kara at comm@inasmuch.ca
Dessert Fundraiser: Still time to RSVP!
This Friday, February 7 we are hosting a dessert fundraiser at Northview Community Church (Downes Road Campus).
Join us at 6:30 pm to hear stories of hope directly from the Refugee Claimants we serve. Learn how you can advocate and reach out to the most vulnerable right here in our city. Help prevent homelessness and food insecurity. Also, enjoy music and dancing from some of our African guests!

Charitable Tax Receipts for 2024
Thank you for your generosity to make a difference in the lives of Refugee Claimants!
If you gave online in 2024 you will receive your tax receipt via email. If you didn’t receive it, check your junk email inbox as unfortunately sometimes it ends up there.
Call Kelly at 778-201-6729 for further assistance.
Life-Long Service to the Lord
Did you know? Clearbrook MB church hosts a Hymn Sing on the 3rd Sunday night of every month and you are welcome! In January they generously hosted Inasmuch as their feature organization. We were grateful to share about the perilous journey of Refugee Claimants with seniors who have faithfully loved and served the Lord for decades – many of whom have stories of refuge in their own heritage. The theme for the evening was, appropriately, God’s grace in our lives.
If you would like us to give a 7-10 minute presentation at your church, small group or gathering, please contact Kara at comm@inasmuch.ca
Words of Thanks from a Former Resident
"Thank you for your support and care! When I talk to other Refugee Claimants who are not part of Inasmuch, I see how difficult it is for them to access services and adjust to life in our city. I don't worry about that because I have your support and community."
